Eastmere is well decorated, furnished and fully equipped. The living room has a sofa, 2 easy chairs, dining table and 4 chairs, colour TV and DVD Player. In the kitchen there is a wide range of utensils,cupboards and work surfaces, stainless steel sink, a large fridge/freezer, microwave, Creda electric cooker, automatic washing machine and access to drying facilities.
The bathroom has a bath with shower, hand basin and WC. The hot water cylinder cupboard contains a vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board.
There is one double bedroom with double bed and a spacious antique wardrobe plus one twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, double wardrobe and deep chest of drawers. Bed linen, pillows, duvets and towels are provided. Heating is via thermostatically controlled electric heaters; also cooling fans are available. Electricity is included in the price quoted.
We are sorry, but we cannot accept pets and stipulate "no smoking" in the cottage.
Children are welcome. There is a west-facing area with garden seating and table. A wide gate with netting secures this gravelled area - making it safe for young children. We can supply a travel cot with mattress and a high chair.
Just to the East your neighbours are the owners, Bernard and Jean. Neighbours, some distance to the West, are race horses in well-tended stables. Stable staff may be seen working and riding.
The accommodation is suitable for handicapped or elderly people who can manage a 3 inch (8cm) step and standard width doors within the cottage. Outside the ground is level gravel.
Walkers and cyclists are welcome. Bicycles can be secured in a lockable outbuilding. We have OS maps of the South Downs. Some visitors take their car to one of the strategic car parks along the South Downs and walk sections of the South Downs Way. The cottage is situated less than a mile from the South Downs National Park.
